Research Summary
In the Ponomarova Lab, we investigate how metabolic pathways interact to support physiological functions. How does an organism stay healthy when a metabolic enzyme is mutated? What diet will improve or worsen the disease? Why are metabolic networks connected the way they are? We use nematode C. elegans and its bacterial diet to investigate metabolism from organellar to inter-organism levels.
